Q: You were born

A: Yes, I was born in 1967

Q: What do you do?

A: It's easier to take a look around the site. You can watch my works with books in the "book" section, so the videos, the illustrations, the artworks in the relative sections in the menu.

Q: So you are a multimedia artist?

A: I use many media (and usually in an unorthodox way) because I'm curious or maybe I'm not able to use just one: I've been many monomedia artists.

Q: Where does this come from?

A: I'm from Italy, partly austrian, probably I'm a mittel-european funny intellectual strongly influenced by japanese culture. in Italy, multimedia artists were produced since the Renaissance and, before Apple Computers and multi-tasking, they were simply called Renaissance Men, not multimedia artists.

Q: Do you have a favorite art in your production?

A: I love stories. In any forms.

When I don't have words, I use images.

When one image is not enough, I make many: an animation,

If I can't draw it, I film it and so on... but basically, I love stories.

Q: I need to categorize: are you a young artist?

A: When I was 20 I went to the Venice Art Biennal for the first time. I was surprised to see that some of the so-called "young artists" were 50 years old. Few years ago I went there again and I saw that some teenagers were considered "young artists".

Now that I'm close to the 50s I realized that I've never been a young artist and probably it's to early to consider me an old master, but I'm working on it (to become old, not a master).

Q: What about being contemporary?

A: I've tried very often to be a contemporary artist but the timing was always wrong.

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: I try to think a lot before making one thing. In general I think a lot. This doesn't mean that what I do it's necessarily clever. Just that I think about the things around me and then -as an artist- I feel the urgency to make something different.

Q: Why a Q&A and not a CV?

A: CV are boring, but I will put one soon. Meanwhile, all the works which I consider worth to see are here in this site.
